80 crore poor will get free ration even after November? Government told plan


New Delhi: Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the poor may not get free ration after November. On Friday, the Food Secretary said that under this scheme, even after November, there is no proposal to give ration to the poor.


Let us inform you that since last year, under this scheme, free ration is being provided to poor families by the central government. In June this year, it was announced by PM Narendra Modi to extend this scheme till November. PM Modi had said in his speech on June 30 that the government had to spend a total of Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the distribution of free ration in 8 months.


Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said on Friday, 'The economy is now moving towards recovery. In such a situation, there is no plan to expand PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. On the question of inflation of expensive edible oil, he said that it is getting reduced in many states of the country.


The reduction from Rs 7 to Rs 20 has been seen at different places. Palm oil, groundnut oil and sunflower oil are showing shortages. Let us tell you that the inflation of edible oils has become a big issue in the last few days. In which there has been a slight decrease due to the efforts of the government, but still its price remains beyond Rs 200 per liter.
