Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on the second day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir that Metro services will be started in Jammu and Srinagar within two years. Amit Shah made this announcement while addressing a public meeting in Bhagwati Nagar area of ​​Jammu on Sunday. The Union Home Minister is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. This is his first visit to the Valley after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.


Talking about the development works to be done in the Union Territory, Amit Shah said that Jammu Airport will be expanded and helicopter service will also be started in every district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Amit Shah said, 'I came to Jammu today to say that the time of injustice to the people of Jammu is over, now no one can do injustice to you. Some people are trying to obstruct the era of development here, but I want to assure you that no one will be able to hinder the era of development.


He said, 'PM Modi decided to abrogate Article 370. Discrimination against Valmiki Samaj and refugees from West Pakistan has ended. The Minimum Wages Act has also been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.’


Addressing a rally in Jammu, Shah said, "The time to ignore the people of Jammu is over now, both Jammu and Kashmir will develop side by side."


By the end of 2022, there will be an investment of 51 thousand crores in Kashmir

He said that no one will be able to put obstacles in the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Shah said, “If the youth will be involved in the development of Jammu and Kashmir, then the terrorists will fail in their nefarious designs. So far, an investment of Rs 12,000 crore has come in Jammu and Kashmir and we aim to make it Rs 51,000 crore by the end of 2022.


"Our aim is that no civilian should be killed in violence and terrorism should be wiped out from Jammu and Kashmir," Shah said.
