Before Republic Day, Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra will get gallantry award, President will honour

Neeraj Chopra created history by winning the Tokyo Olympics gold. He is getting his reward in the form of Param Vishisht Seva Medal.

New Delhi: Neeraj Chopra, the athlete who won the Gold Medal in Track and Field at the Tokyo Olympics from India, was honoured on the eve of Republic Day. Will be honoured in the evening.


Param Vishisht Seva Medal to Neeraj Chopra

Subedar Neeraj Chopra of the Indian Army will be given the Param Vishisht Seva Medal. Neeraj had captured the gold medal in the javelin throw event of the Olympics last year by throwing 86.65 metres.


President will give awards to the heroes

President Ram Nath Kovind will honour 384 defence personnel with gallantry and other awards at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday evening, including 12 Shaurya Chakras, 29 Vishisht Seva Medals, 4 Best War Service. Medals (Uttam Yudh Seva Medal), 53 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 13 Yudh Seva Medals and 3 Bar to Sena Medals.
