BJP released the list of 30 candidates for MLC elections, a big bet in Azamgarh

BJP on Saturday released the list of 30 MLC candidates for the Legislative Council elections of Uttar Pradesh. In the first phase of the MLC elections, these 30 candidates have to be nominated by March 21.


Lucknow: BJP on Saturday released the list of 30 MLC candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections. In its list, BJP has fielded Arun Kant, son of Bahubali MLA Ramakant Yadav from Azamgarh, the stronghold of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. Apart from this, BJP has fielded local authority Dinesh Pratap Singh from Rae Bareli.


BJP did not give the ticket to Arun Kant in the assembly elections. In such a situation, Arun Kant Yadav, who was MLA from Phulpur Powai, has tried to reduce his displeasure by making him an MLC candidate. Here he will face the former MLC of Samajwadi Party Rakesh Yadav alias Guddu.

BJP has nominated KP Srivastava from Allahabad, CP Chandra from Gorakhpur Maharajganj, Ravi Shankar Singh Pappu from Ballia, Pranshu Dutt Dwivedi from Etawah Farrukhabad, Chanchal Singh from Ghazipur, Hari Pratap Singh from Pratapgarh, Anand Kumar Singh from Barabanki, Pragya Tripathi from Bahraich, Awadhesh from Gonda. Singh Manju, Hariom Pandey from Faizabad, Ratan Pal Singh from Deoria, Arun Kumar Yadav from Azamgarh Mau, Jitendra Singh Tomar from Banda Hamirpur, Rama Niranjan from Jhansi, Jalaun, Lalitpur, Pranshu Dutt Dwivedi from Etawah Farrukhabad and Vijay Shivhare as MLC from Agra's Firozabad. Nominated for election.


The term of the elected member of the Legislative Council is 6 years and elections are held for it after two years. There are a total of 100 members in the Legislative Council of UP, in which the figure of 51 is needed for the majority. Here SP is in majority with 48 seats, while BJP has 36 members. In the first phase of the MLC elections, these 30 candidates have to be nominated by March 21.
