Lucknow: The results of the Zila Panchayat President elections in Uttar Pradesh (UP Zila Panchayat Adhakshya Chunav Result) have come. On Saturday, the State Election Commission announced the results of 53 districts, whereas earlier on Tuesday, the Zila Panchayat Presidents were declared elected unopposed in 22 districts. Out of which BJP candidates were elected unopposed on 21 seats, while in one seat Etawah SP candidates remained unopposed. In this way BJP has triumphed 67 seats out of 75.
SP bagged five seats
According to the information given by the State Election Commission, in the three-tier panchayat elections of Uttar Pradesh, voting took place in 53 districts from 11 am to 3 pm. After 3 pm, counting of votes started and the results were declared by late evening. Samajwadi Party won five seats including Etawah where party won unopposed where rest of the seats include Sant Kabir Nagar, Azamgarh, Etah and Ballia. Rashtriya Lok Dal in Baghpat, Independent in Jaunpur and Jansatta Dal candidate in Pratapgarh. Apart from these, all the remaining seats have been gained by the candidates backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet, 'BJP's astounding victory in the Uttar Pradesh Zila Panchayat elections is the blessings given by the public for development, public service and rule of law.
