BJP leader Purandeshwari said that before the formation of the BJP government, extortion was collected from entrepreneurs and hence no investment was done out of fear, but today there is a 'friendly' environment in UP.
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party's National General Secretary and Odisha's organizational in-charge D. Purandeshwari appreciated the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh. He said that before the formation of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, women were afraid to leave the house after 6 pm, but now criminals and mafia are scared.
In the 2017 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, BJP got an absolute majority and the government was formed under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. In 2022, BJP again formed a government of absolute majority under the leadership of Yogi.
'Earlier there was no investment in UP out of fear'
Purandeshwari, who came on a three-day tour to review the party organization in the state, told reporters at the party's state headquarters on Tuesday that before the formation of the BJP government, extortion was collected from entrepreneurs and hence no investment was made out of fear. But today there is a 'friendly' atmosphere in UP. Targeting the opposition parties without naming names, he said, 'Our party believes in service and the biggest proof of this is that political parties (opposition) were lying in ICU during the Corona period, but BJP workers were helping people without caring about their lives.
'There is no corruption in UP now'
Purandeshwari said that there is no familyism and corruption in BJP, in 8 years no one can say that the Prime Minister or any of his ministers is involved in corruption. He said that even in Uttar Pradesh there is no corruption now and the way development is focused is very important.
On the question of giving tickets to the family members of BJP government ministers, MPs, and MLAs in the upcoming civic elections, he said that there is a way of selecting tickets in the Bharatiya Janata Party and accordingly our president and leaders will take a decision on it.
'PM Modi is the true leader of the country'
Appreciating the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, "We believe that a leader is the one who converts challenges into opportunities." Turning the opportunity into an opportunity, increased the resources. He claimed that today 100 countries are being vaccinated against Kovid from India and hence "we believe that Prime Minister Modi is the true leader of the country." Purandeswari said that no one dared to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir but Modi ji has done it.
Schemes made keeping the poor at the centre'
On being questioned in the context of the killing of two workers of Kannauj, the General Secretary of BJP said that the organization and the government will take the initiative to support their families. Two migrant labourers resident of Kannauj were killed in a grenade attack by terrorists in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Tuesday. Describing the formation of the BJP government at the Center and the state for two consecutive terms, Purandeshwari said that the Prime Minister works with the spirit of Antyodaya and schemes have been made keeping the poor at the centre.
