New Delhi: The Kejriwal government has taken a big step for the labourers. The government has announced to give an annual pass to the laborers for the facility of free travel in DTC buses. Along with this, free coaching facility will be provided to the children of the labourers. Let us tell you that earlier the Delhi government had announced free travel for women in DTC buses. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had ordered the concerned departments to find a way to give free DTC passes to all registered laborers in Delhi.
Meeting with officials
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with the officials of the Labor Department on Monday. In the meeting, Kejriwal instructed the officials to arrange houses and hostels (shelters) for the labourers. The Chief Minister's Office gave information about this by tweeting. The tweet said that 'Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held an important review meeting with the Labor Department today. In the meeting, the CM ordered the department to work to provide government facilities and schemes to all the 13 lakh workers registered in Delhi.
13.4 lakh laborers registered
According to the information received, there are 13.4 lakh registered construction laborers in Delhi. The CM had earlier held a review meeting with the Labor Department, in which the Delhi Chief Minister had identified several measures aimed at improving the lives and welfare of these labourers.
CM office gave information
The Delhi CM's office told that 'decisions have been taken on many points in the meeting. In which all laborers should be given annual DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) passes for free travel in buses. Arrangements should be made for houses and hostels for the laborers to live. There should be arrangement of free coaching for the children of all labourers. Apart from this, toolkits will also be given to all the laborers. Along with this, 'skill development programs' will be run for them on a large scale. Apart from all this, ESI (Employees State Insurance Corporation) and group insurance will be given to all the workers.
