Draupadi Murmu filed nomination for the post of President, PM Modi and leaders were present

According to the information, YSR Congress has also announced its support for Draupadi Murmu for the post of President.

New Delhi: NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu has filed her nomination today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh along with big leaders of NDA and Chief Ministers of many states were also present on this occasion. Earlier yesterday, Draupadi Murmu also met PM Modi. According to the information, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda were among his proposers.

YSR, BJD supported

On the other hand, YSR Congress has also announced its support to Draupadi Murmu for the post of President. A release from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's office on Thursday night lauded Draupadi Murmu's candidature. "It is a good sign that in the history of independent India, a woman from a tribal community has been nominated for the post of President," the release said. Therefore, the YSR Congress extends its support to her. Earlier, the Biju Janata Dal had also supported Draupadi Murmu's candidature.

Draupadi Murmu met PM Modi yesterday

Draupadi Murmu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi after reaching Delhi yesterday. Prime Minister Modi himself gave this information in a tweet. Modi said, 'Met Draupadi Murmu ji. His candidature for the post of President is being appreciated across the country and by all sections of the society. His understanding of the problems on the ground and his vision for India's development is excellent.

Nitish expressed happiness

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had also expressed happiness over Draupadi Murmu being made the presidential candidate. He said that the Prime Minister also thanked him from the heart for this. He said that Draupadi Murmu, originally from Orissa, had performed her duties as a minister in the government there, and after that her role as the Governor of Jharkhand has also been commendable.
