Draupadi Murmu: The central government has given 'Z plus' security to Draupadi Murmu

The decision was taken by the Home Ministry after central security agencies submitted reports about the threat perception to the presidential candidate. A contingent of about 14-16 personnel of the Odisha-based paramilitary force has taken over the responsibility of protecting Murmu.

NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu has been given 'Z+' security. Following the order of the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Wednesday morning, a contingent of about 14-16 personnel of the paramilitary force in Odisha took over the responsibility of security.


On Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party national president J.P. Nadda announced the nomination of former Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu as the NDA's presidential candidate at a press conference after the party's parliamentary board meeting. Many senior leaders of the party including Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended this meeting. It was reported that soon after this announcement, the Union Home Ministry had directed the CRPF to deploy a 'VIP' security team to take over the responsibility of protecting Murmu.


There was an apprehension of danger about the presidential candidate

The decision was taken by the home ministry after central security agencies submitted reports of threat perception to the presidential candidate. A contingent of about 14-16 personnel of the Odisha-based paramilitary force has taken over the responsibility of protecting Murmu. They will be with him during his travels anywhere in the state or the country. The security personnel will also guard Murmu's residence in Rairangpur, Odisha. Murmu is expected to make several trips over the next month to meet legislators and leaders of various political parties seeking support for his candidature.


How is z+ security?

VVIPs who are given Z+ category security, have a tight security guard around them. According to the information, 58 commandos are deployed in the security of the Z + category. 10 Armed Static Guards, 6 PSOs round the clock at a time, 24 Jawans, 2 Escorts round the clock, and 5 Watchers stay in two shifts. An Inspector or Sub Inspector is posted as Incharge and along with him, there are 6 drivers round the clock.
