EAM S Jaishankar bluntly to Rahul Gandhi, said- 'I do not go abroad and do politics'

New Delhi: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has targeted Rahul Gandhi in gestures. He gave his opinion on the statements given by Rahul Gandhi in America. Pointing to Rahul Gandhi, Jaishankar said that when a person goes out of the country, sometimes there are "bigger things than politics". Jaishankar said in Cape Town that 'he can talk about himself and does not do politics while travelling abroad.


"Look, I have said that I can only speak for myself, I try not to do politics when I go abroad," he said in response to a question. Jaishankar said these things while addressing the Indian community in Cape Town after participating in the meeting of foreign ministers of BRICS countries.


Rahul Gandhi criticized the Modi government in America

This statement of Jaishankar has come at a time when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his visit to America a few days ago targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government several times. Rahul Gandhi, while addressing Indian Americans in Santa Clara, US earlier this week, criticized Prime Minister Modi and targeted the government's policies on various fronts.


Jaishankar cited the democratic system

On this, Jaishankar further said in Cape Town that 'I am fully prepared to debate and debate vigorously at home, but I think you know, even a democratic system has a certain collective responsibility. There is a national interest, there is a collective image. Sometimes there are bigger things than politics and when you step outside the country, I think it is important to remember that.
