New Delhi: The Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha organized a Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata, West Bengal, in which it has shown Mahatma Gandhi instead of the Asura who was lying near the feet of Durga.

A complaint has now been lodged against the Hindu Mahasabha regarding this. Along with this, the idol of Gandhiji has been removed and now the idol of Asur has been put in its place again. As soon as the matter caught fire, now politics started on it. TMC, Congress CPIM as well as BJP have expressed their opposition to this.

What did the Hindu Mahasabha say?

According to the Indian Express report, the Hindu Mahasabha has said on this matter, "It is not necessary that a person who is bald and wearing glasses is Gandhi." He said that the idol is also holding a shield, Did Gandhi ever hold a shield? It is just a coincidence that the one whom Maa Durga is killing looks like Gandhi. Hindu Mahasabha West Bengal unit working president Chandradur Goswami further said that we need to criticize Gandhi.

TMC accuses BJP

In Bengal, the ruling party Trinamool Congress said on this whole matter that it is the real face of the BJP. TMC's Bengal General Secretary Kunan Ghosh said on this whole issue that this is the real face of BJP, whatever else it does, it is just a show. Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation, the world respects Gandhi and his thoughts. Insulting Gandhiji is not acceptable at any cost. We strongly oppose this.

BJP also demanded action

BJP has also registered its protest on the matter, saying that immediate action should be taken against the organisers. BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said on this, "We do not support such things at all. Such things certainly cannot be accepted. The administration should take immediate action against the organisers.
