Massive explosion at Indian Oil Refinery, 3 killed; more than 40 injured

Indian Oil Corporation's refinery has exploded in which 3 people have died. According to the information, more than 40 people have been injured in the accident. A huge fire broke out after the blast, which has now been brought under control.

Kolkata: There was a big explosion in Haldia, West Bengal. There has been a blast in the Indian Oil Corporation's refinery here, in which 3 people have died. According to the information, more than 40 people have been injured in the accident. A huge fire broke out after the blast, which has now been brought under control.


3 workers killed in accident

According to the information, the blast took place at around 3 pm after which a fire broke out in the refinery. 44 employees have been injured in the accident, some of whom are said to be in critical condition. All have been admitted to the hospital for treatment as well as three people have also died after getting badly burnt. Expressing grief over the accident, CM Mamta Banerjee wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.


37 seriously injured people were shifted to Kolkata, out of which the condition of 20 is said to be critical. Green corridor was made to take the injured to the hospital so that they can be taken to the hospital as soon as possible. The blast site has been completely evacuated. But till now the reason for this blast is not known.


According to the information, a mock drill was organised in the refinery and after that shutdown work was going on in a plant. During the drill itself, there was a loud explosion and a fire broke out. Through the fire has now been brought under control but before
