New Delhi: Former Delhi unit media cell chief Naveen Jindal, who was expelled from the BJP for making controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad, on Tuesday claimed that he and his family members were receiving death threats on social media. Jindal had come under the target of people on social media after tweeting about the Prophet on June 1.

Didn't want to hurt religious sentiments
Gupta said that he (Jindal) has acted against the policies and ideology of the party. "Your primary membership is immediately terminated and you are expelled from the party," Gupta had said in the letter. Jindal has said that he had tweeted asking questions to those who attacked and insulted Hindu gods and goddesses and it was not intended to hurt the religious sentiments of any community.
Requested to provide security
At the same time, news came to the fore this morning that Nupur Sharma, a suspended spokesperson from BJP, has got police protection. Delhi Police has provided security to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and her family. An official has given this information. In fact, Nupur Sharma was receiving death threats for her controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad and after that, the police filed a case on her complaint. Nupur Sharma requested the police to provide security after receiving death threats.
