One case of Omicron has come to light from Chandigarh, while the other case has come to light from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. Both these patients have come to India from abroad in the last few days.
New Delhi: Now the cases of Omicron, a new variant of Corona, are increasing continuously in the country. On Sunday itself, 3 more cases have been reported in the country. One case of Omicron has come to light from Chandigarh, while the other case has come to light from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, the third case has come up from Nagpur in Maharashtra itself. All these three patients have come to India from abroad in the last few days.
Confirmed in Chandigarh
A 20-year-old youth had reached Chandigarh to meet his relatives, where tests confirmed that he was infected with the Omicron variant. This is the first case of a person getting infected with this variant of the corona virus in Chandigarh. The man was living in Italy. Recently he had come here to meet his relatives. His report of genome sequencing was received late on 11 December and it was confirmed to be infected with Omicron variants.
Case surfaced from Andhra Pradesh
While the second case of being infected with Omicron has come from Andhra Pradesh. This person had reached Mumbai earlier and in the Kovid-19 investigation, he was not confirmed to be infected. After this, on 27 November, he got permission to go to Visakhapatnam. Then for the second time in Vizianagaram RT-PCR test confirmed his infection. After this his sample was sent to the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad for genome sequencing and its results were confirmed by Omicron.
