Opposition is raising slogans in Rajya Sabha, yet PM Modi kept on speaking

PM Modi continued his address amid heavy ruckus and sloganeering by the opposition in the Rajya Sabha. He said that for 60 years, the Congress family had made potholes only. They may not have intended to, but they did. While he was digging the pit, he had wasted 6 decades.

New Delhi: On Thursday, the opposition created a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha, in fact, even before PM Modi's speech, the opposition started shouting slogans and the MPs of the opposition came in the bell and started shouting slogans. Opposition MPs were demanding JPC. Because of this sloganeering, PM Modi sat in his seat for some time. But when the PM saw that the sloganeering was not stopping, he started reading his speech on the instructions of the Vice President.


They have mud, I have gulal: PM

Taking a jibe at the opposition, PM Modi said, 'They have mud, I have gulal. The behaviour of some people and the words of some people are going to disappoint not only the House but also the country. I will say to the honourable members of this type of trend that he had mud, I had gulal, and whoever had it, he gave it a bounce. It is good, the more mud you throw, the more the lotus will bloom. That's why I also express my gratitude to them for their direct and indirect contribution in feeding the lotus.


Congress used to avoid problems: PM

PM Modi said, 'Our government's emphasis is on a permanent solution. The culture of Congress was to avoid problems. The working style of Congress cannot lead to a permanent solution to any problem. Congress ruined 6 decades of the country. The people of the country were facing problems during the Congress rule.


PM Modi said, 'For 60 years, the Congress family had made pits only. They may not have intended to, but they did. While he was digging the pit, he had wasted 6 decades. At that time even the smallest countries of the world were touching the heights of success.


PM Modi said, 'Whenever someone comes to the government, he comes with some promise for the country, but just expressing feelings does not help. What is the speed of development, what is the foundation, direction, effort and result of development, it matters a lot.


Mallikarjun Kharge also targeted

PM Modi said, 'Yesterday Kharge ji was complaining that Modi ji repeatedly comes to my constituency. I want to tell them, I am coming, you have seen that, but you should also see that there are 1 crore 70 lakh Jan Dhan bank accounts opened there. More than 8 lakh Jan Dhan accounts have been opened in Kalaburagi alone.


The PM said, 'I can understand his (Mallikarjun Kharge) pain after seeing this. You talk about Dalits and also see that Dalits got victory in the elections at the same place. Now the public is rejecting you, so you are crying for it here.


Gas connections have been provided to more than 25 crore families: PM

PM Modi said, 'Our priority was the citizens of our country, so we provided gas connections to more than 25 crore families. In this, we had to spend new infrastructure and money. There were more than 18,000 villages where electricity did not reach. With the deadline, we provided electricity to 18,000 villages.


We chose the path of saturation: PM

PM Modi said, 'We have chosen the path of saturation, which means that 100 percent of the beneficiaries get benefited. The government is working on this path. Saturation would have meant eliminating all scope for discrimination. It ends the apprehensions of appeasement.


He said, 'The country is repeatedly rejecting the Congress, but the Congress and its allies are not deterring from their conspiracies, but the public is watching it and punishing them at every opportunity.'


The PM said, '110 such aspirational districts where the majority of tribals are there, they have got direct benefits of the schemes. The focus was on education, and infrastructure here. Under the Schedule Tribe Component Fund in the budget, there has been an increase of 5 times more than before 2014.
