PM Modi said - from January 3, children will start getting corona vaccine

'Vaccination for children will start from January 3'

PM Modi said, 'Corona Vaccine for Children will start in the country for the children who are between the age of 15 years to 18 years. In 2022, on 3rd January, it will start from Monday.


'Senior citizens will get booster dose'

The Prime Minister said, 'For citizens above 60 years of age with co-morbidities, the option of Precaution Dose of the vaccine will also be available to them on the advice of their doctor. This too will be available from January 10.


'Health worker will also take extra dose'

He said, 'We all have experience that those who are corona warriors, healthcare and frontline workers, have a huge contribution in keeping the country safe in this fight. Even today, he spends a lot of his time in the service of the patients of Corona. Therefore, from the point of view of Precaution, the Government has decided that Precaution Dose of Vaccine will also be started for Healthcare and Frontline Workers. It will start in 2022, on January 10, Monday.


PM Modi said, 'Today, more than 61 percent of India's adult population has received both doses of the vaccine. Similarly, about 90 percent of the adult population has been given a single dose of the vaccine.


'Vaccination started from January 16 this year'

He said that India started giving the vaccine to its citizens from January 16 this year. It is the collective effort and collective will of all the citizens of the country that today India has crossed the unprecedented and very difficult target of 141 crore vaccine doses. The experience of fighting the corona global epidemic so far shows that following all the guidelines at the individual level is a big way to combat corona.


PM Modi said that we are in the last week of this year and all of you are preparing to welcome 2022. Along with enthusiasm, this is also the time to be alert. In many countries of the world, infection due to Omicron variants is increasing. Few cases have been reported in India. Everyone is appealing not to panic, but to be careful.


'Keep following the corona protocol'

The Prime Minister said that you must use masks and keep washing your hands. He said that our capacity to deal with Corona is increasing. Now the country has 18 lakh isolation beds, 1.40 lakh ICU beds. Including the total beds, 90 thousand beds are also for children. More than 3 thousand oxygen plants are functioning in the country today.
