Prime Minister Modi called Agneepath scheme a 'game changer'

Appreciating the prowess of the Agniveers, the Prime Minister said that their spirit reflects the bravery of the Armed Forces, who have always kept the nation's flag flying high.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the first batch of Agniveers on Monday. During this, he also appreciated the spirit of the youth. The Prime Minister gave a message to the Agniveers for about 5-6 minutes. He said, "I have seen the videos of Agniveers coming from the Regimental Center and it is heartening to see that all these Agniveers are enthusiastically participating in this Agneepath scheme for the country." Appreciating the fire fighters, the Prime Minister said, "With the help of modern technology and the training of Agniveers is being further improved by the Indian Army, so that you can do the supreme work for the country."


The scheme will further empower women: PM

He said, “The experience they will gain through this opportunity will be a source of pride for life.” PM Modi said that this scheme will further empower women.


Example of women soldiers posted in Siachen

Citing examples of women soldiers posted in Siachen and women flying modern fighter aircraft, PM Modi told the Agniveers how women are leading the armed forces on various fronts. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also participated in this dialogue programme. Let us tell you that on June 14 last year, the government had announced this scheme. This scheme gives a chance to the youth of 17 ½ years to 21 years to serve in the armed forces for 4 years.
