In an election rally at Amla in Bareilly district, Shah said that in 2017 as BJP president, he had promised that his party would end 'Gundaraj' in Uttar Pradesh.

Bareilly: Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah on Friday called the governments formed before the BJP came to power in Uttar Pradesh as "casteist" and claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked for the welfare of all castes.

In an election rally at Amla in Bareilly district, Shah said that in 2017 as BJP president, he had promised that his party would end 'Gundaraj' in Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi Adityanath claimed that the government has kept its promise. Mafia is not visible in Uttar Pradesh. Azam Khan, Ateeq Ahmed and Mukhtar Ansari are in jail."

Hitting out at the opposition parties, Shah said, "The previous governments in Uttar Pradesh were casteist.

When SP (Samajwadi Party) came (in power), work was done for one caste. When BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) was in power, work was done for other castes. Modi ji developed everyone and worked for all castes 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas' (mantra)."

“When SP or BSP was in power, the state was ruled by the mafia. Narendra Modi ji and Yogi ji have sent him to jail."
