Union Minister Gadkari's election promise in Uttarakhand will make Auli a better city than Davos

He said that the roads of Chardham have been made very well and now electric buses will be operated here.

New Delhi: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that a good city will be built from Davos city of Switzerland in Auli, Uttarakhand. He said that work is going on to build a good road till Auli and after that the area would be developed as the biggest centre of tourism. Speaking virtually at DD Conclave on Monday, Nitin Gadkari said that Uttarakhand has immense potential for tourism development and work is being done in this direction.


He said that he had spoken to the Chief Minister of the state regarding the development of Auli and that the area would be developed into a very beautiful city. Gadkari said he also plans to work on the development of electric vehicles in Uttarakhand. He said that if the BJP government comes to power in the state, then luxury air conditioner electric buses will be operated from Delhi to Dehradun, Haridwar and Chardham. He said that the roads of Chardham have been made very well and now electric buses will be operated here.


Gadkari said that travelling by electric vehicle is much cheaper than diesel. While travelling by diesel bus costs Rs 115 per km, the same cost in electric bus is Rs 50. During this, Gadkari said that work on seven ropeway projects including Kedarnath, Hemkund will be started in Uttarakhand in 2022.


He said that MoUs have been signed for Kedarnath and Hemkund projects. He said that a target has been set to complete the road work from Pithoragarh to Lipulekh in 2022 itself. He said that work is being done on many road development projects in the state.
