On this occasion, Naidu said that one plant is equal to 100 sons as mentioned in the Puranas. He appealed to all to plant trees, protect it, increase it and spread it to help maintain the ecological balance.

The plant planted is Sita Ashok, which is an evergreen tree. It is known for its ornamental fragrant flowers and medicinal values. The tree belongs to the 'Fabaceae' family and is considered one of the mythological and sacred trees.
