Will get rid of the loud sound of horn and siren, now this music will play; Nitin Gadkari told

The country is soon going to get rid of the loud horns and sirens of vehicles. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the government is soon going to change the sound of horns and sirens.

New Delhi. Very soon the sound of horns and sirens of vehicles of the country may change. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said this in Nashik on Monday. He said that he is planning to bring such a law, under which only the sound of Indian instruments can be used in the horns of vehicles. Apart from this, sirens used in ambulances and police vehicles are also being considered.

According to the information, Gadkari had reached the inauguration ceremony of a highway in Nashik. During this, he said that the government has ended VVIP culture and red beacons and now they want to end these sirens as well. Gadkari said that now I am studying the sirens used by the ambulances and the police. An artist composed a tune for All India Radio and it was played early in the morning and I am thinking of using that tune for an ambulance so that people like it. Especially when the passing of ministers, the siren is used in a loud voice, which is very disturbing. It also damages the ears.

Law will come to change the sound of horn and siren

The Transport Minister said that plans are being made to make a law for this soon. Under this scheme, the sound of Indian musical instruments will come from the horns and sirens of all the vehicles. It will be good for the ears to hear them. The sound of instruments like flute, tabla, violin, and harmonium will be used in the new horn. Apart from this, while talking on the new highway, the Union Minister said that the new Mumbai-Delhi highway costing one lakh crore rupees is already under construction, but it reaches the periphery of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust-Mumbai via Bhiwandi. The Transport Ministry is already constructing a highway on Vasai Creek.

The Union Minister said that when he was the Public Works Minister of Maharashtra, he could not connect Bandra-Worli with Vasai-Virar. So now they are planning to build a bridge across the sea and connect it with the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. With this the distance between Nariman Point to Delhi will be covered in just 12 hours. Apart from this, it will reduce the traffic on the Western Express Highway.

5 lakh road accidents happen every year

Gadkari said that 5 lakh road accidents take place in India every year in which 1.5 lakh people are killed and lakhs are injured. He said that we lose 3 percent of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) due to accidents. Now the accidents on the Mumbai-Pune highway have come down by 50 percent. He said that there has been a 50 per cent reduction in road accidents and deaths in Tamil Nadu, but such success has not been achieved in Maharashtra. The Union Minister said that the death rate due to accidents in Maharashtra is very high. Gadkari also said that he has made six airbags mandatory for vehicles.
