Yogi government made a big change, UP DGP Mukul Goyal removed

Now Mukul Goyal has been released from the post of DGP and sent to the post of DG Civil Defense.

Lucknow: Taking a big decision once again by the Yogi government, UP DGP Mukul Goyal has been removed. Now his charge has been entrusted to ADG Prashant Kumar. It is being told that Mukul Goyal has been removed due to disregard for government work, lack of interest in departmental work and laxity in work. Now Mukul Goyal has been released from the post of DGP and sent to the post of DG Civil Defense.


It is noteworthy that Mukul Goyal took over the post of Director General of Police on 2 July 2021. Goyal is a 1987 batch IPS officer and before that, he was in the post of Additional Director General of Police Operations in BSF. It was only after this that he was appointed as the DGP of Uttar Pradesh.


Goyal's first posting as ASP was in Nainital. After probation, he was appointed SP City Bareilly and his first district as a captain was Almora. After this, he was also the captain of Jalaun, Mainpuri, Azamgarh, Hathras, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Saharanpur and Meerut. Along with this, he was also given the post of SP in EOW and Vigilance.


Old relationship with controversies

Mukul Goyal has always been associated with controversies, according to media reports, even in 2000, Goyal was suspended from SSP after the murder of an MLA. Along with this, his name was also mentioned in the alleged police recruitment scam in 2006.


The state will soon get a new DGP

Now there is a discussion that soon the Yogi government can announce a new DGP. According to sources, three names are discussed the most in the race for the post of DGP. These include DG Intelligence DS Chauhan, RK Vishwakarma and Anand Kumar. It is being told that out of these three names, only one name will be stamped by the Yogi government.
