New Delhi: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Delhi's primary school. Here a teacher attacked a class 5 girl student with scissors and then threw her down from the first floor of the school building. Police said on Friday that the accused teacher has been taken into custody. He said that following the incident, a large crowd of people gathered at the primary school located in the Model Basti area of central Delhi. Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The accused teacher has been identified as Geeta Deshwal. He locked the room from the inside and broke the bottles of the children. After this, a student named Vandana was attacked with a small scissors and then thrown down from the first floor. The girl had injuries at 2-3 places on her head. The injured girl student is being treated at Hindu Rao Hospital and her condition is said to be out of danger. The student told that she had not done anything wrong, yet the teacher attacked her.
DCP's statement on the matter
Central Delhi DCP Shweta Chauhan said that based on the statements of eyewitnesses, a case of attempt to murder is being registered under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code. He said that the accused teacher has been taken into custody.
An official of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi said that the accused teacher has been suspended with immediate effect and further investigation is on.
