ED summons Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, summoned on November 17 in an illegal mining case

In the illegal mining case, the ED summoned Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and has been called for questioning on November 17.

New Delhi: ED has again summoned Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in illegal mining case and called the Ranchi office on November 17 for questioning. Earlier, Hemant Soren had sought three weeks' time from the ED. Hemant Soren was earlier summoned by the ED and was called for questioning on November 3 but the CM did not come to the ED office for questioning. The Chief Minister, citing busyness in his pre-scheduled programs, said that he should be given three weeks' time.

ED issues summons 3 times in such cases, but if the person concerned does not appear for questioning, then the agency takes special instructions from the court for appropriate legal action.

Took a dig at BJP

Hemant Soren called the ED's summons a well-planned conspiracy of the BJP and challenged the arrest of the ED and said that if they think that we have committed any serious crime, then come and arrest them. Where have we refused? He said that everything has an etiquette.

These summonses distribute unseasonal Holi, and Diwali crackers, and sweets to the government in a planned manner. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the state. There is a well-planned conspiracy of our opposition. I understand this is not a summons of ED but a tactic used by the BJP.

Soren got relief from Supreme Court

Hemant Soren got a big relief from the Supreme Court in the case of illegal mining and money laundering. On this matter, the Supreme Court, while giving its verdict on the application of Soren and the state government, had set aside the decision of the High Court. After the Supreme Court's decision, CM Soren tweeted on social media and wrote, 'Satyamev Jayate!'
