Kejriwal government announces new excise policy on liquor, hotels, clubs will remain open till 3 am

According to the excise policy made public by the Delhi government, retail shops (L-7V) of country and foreign liquor can be opened anywhere in any market, mall, commercial areas, local shopping complex.


New Delhi : Kejriwal government has come up with a new excise policy to increase the revenue and tighten the noose on the liquor mafia. According to this policy, liquor will now be available with a walk-in facility in Delhi. Apart from this, hotels, clubs and pubs, restaurants and bars serving liquor in Delhi will remain open till 3 am.



Through the new excise policy of the Delhi government, now the condition of liquor shops in Delhi will also change. Actually, under the new excise policy, liquor shops will be in open places. Also, the shops will have air conditioning and the customer will not have to push. To add, Delhi is the 28th most traveled city in the world and the first place in terms of foreign travel in India. In such a situation, the Excise Department is an important source of revenue for the Delhi Government.

No mention of legal age and home delivery of alcohol

There is no provision in the policy regarding home delivery of alcohol. The new excise policy of the Delhi government does not mention the home delivery of alcohol and the legal age of drinking alcohol. In the new policy of the government, retail shops (L-7V) of country and foreign liquor can be opened anywhere in any market, mall, commercial areas, local shopping complex. Small factories making beer will get a boost after the new policy is implemented and it has been decided to encourage small factories making beer. Under this, delhiites will now be able to get fresh open beer from these small units. Under the policy, small factories making beer have been allowed to supply to bars and restaurants and to sell beer to the people at home.
