Delhi air pollution: Order to increase parking fee 3-4 times in Delhi-NCR, several important orders were passed in CAQM meeting on air pollution.
New Delhi: An important review meeting of the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) was also held on Saturday regarding the serious situation of air pollution in Delhi NCR. In this meeting held under the Graded Response Action Plan Committee (GRAP) plan, all important orders were given to prevent toxic smog in the capital and NCR. The commission has ordered to increase the parking fee by 3-4 times. It has also been said that the states will have to be absolutely ready for emergency steps. Brick kilns will remain closed in Delhi and NCR till further orders. Diesel gen sets and stone crushers will remain closed throughout Delhi NCR.
Parking charges in Delhi NCR should be increased by 3-4 times. Heavy fine should be imposed for burning garbage in the open. Earlier, the Kejriwal government of Delhi has announced the closure of schools and offices for a week. Schools will run online and office workers will also work from home.
It has been said in the order that the next 4-5 days are going to be very important regarding pollution in Delhi. Government agencies should be prepared to implement emergency measures if the pollution level crosses the severe category. It has been said that if the situation worsens, then the possibility of implementing the formula of odd-even cannot be ruled out.
The commission has said that the pollution-affected states and government agencies should complete preparations under GRAP to implement emergency measures. The orders given so far should be implemented in an effective manner. Factors causing dust should be taken into account. It should be ensured that brick kilns are closed in Delhi NCR and the order of NGT should be implemented in this regard.
