Our religion is governed by science and science needs that religion to be...:RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Mohan Bhagwat said, our religion is governed by science and science needs that religion to be beneficial to man. He said that every person should have at least basic knowledge about what we have traditionally.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said in Nagpur on Thursday that the choice is ours and Hinduism is a religion that teaches choice. He said that it is a religion that gives balance. Bhagwat said, "Our religion is governed by science and science needs that religion to be beneficial to human beings, so it is in our traditions to bring science to the fore."

'Our forefathers followed the tradition'

Bhagwat said, "In every subject of the world, we have something or the other done by our forefathers, they passed on by tradition. Earlier we did not have texts, it was going on through oral tradition. Later the texts moved here and there. And some selfish people inserted something in the book which is wrong. It is necessary to review once again the knowledge of those books and traditions."

'Our culture of knowledge has fragmented'

"Everybody should have at least a basic knowledge about what we have traditionally. This can be achieved through the education system and interaction between people," he said. He said that historically India had a scientific way of looking at things, but due to invasions, our system was destroyed and our culture of knowledge was fragmented.

'Knowledge should be given to the seeker of knowledge'

The RSS chief further said that only knowledge should be given to the seeker of knowledge. Knowledge should reach every section of society. He said that other people want to take knowledge without permission, so it is necessary that we at least know what pastimes are contained in our tradition. Bhagwat said that the need of the hour is to once again review the knowledge of scriptures and traditions.
