PM Modi got emotional about Morbi accident, and said- 'The incident is very painful'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi got emotional in Gujarat's Banaskantha on Monday when he referred to the incident of bridge breaking in Morbi town of the state. So far 134 people have died in this accident. While many others are still missing. During this, PM Modi went to Banaskantha to lay the foundation stone of development projects. During an event here, PM Modi said that before going to Banaskantha, he was in a dilemma about whether to cancel the event or not.

During the event, PM Modi said, 'The mind of Morbi's dreadful accident is very sad, this accident is painful. I was in a dilemma about whether to cancel today's event or not.


So far 134 died in the accident

A century-old bridge over the Machhu river in Morbi collapsed at around 6.30 pm on Sunday. The death of 134 people has been confirmed in this horrific accident. The bridge was re-opened to the public after repairs four days ago. A huge crowd had gathered on the bridge. After this, the wire on one side of the bridge broke and about 400 people fell into the river. The families of many people have died in this accident. Many children are among the dead.
