Representatives of 195 countries will participate in this General Assembly. The PMO said that these representatives include ministers of member countries, police chiefs, central bureau chiefs and senior police officers.
The General Assembly is the highest governing body of Interpol and meets once a year. In this meeting, the work of Interpol is reviewed and important decisions are also taken. Various aspects of financial crimes and corruption will be discussed in the meeting.
The PMO said that the meeting of the Interpol General Assembly is being held in India after a gap of 25 years. The last time this General Assembly was held in India was in 1997. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India's independence, a special opportunity has been given to organize this time's General Assembly in New Delhi.
