While people demanding justice for the girl child are protesting, Congress, BJP and AAP are busy targeting each other. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi met the parents of the nine-year-old girl here on Wednesday. Rahul Gandhi assured to stand by the victim's family for getting justice and full help.
NCPCR wrote letter to DM, sought report within 48 hours
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Wednesday wrote a letter to the South-West District Magistrate in this matter. In the letter, NCPCR has requested the DM to ensure that the identity of the victim is not disclosed during the process of investigation under the POCSO Act 2012. The commission has demanded an action taken report from the DM within 48 hours.
CM orders magisterial inquiry
After this, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also met the victim's family. The CM ordered a magisterial inquiry into the alleged rape and murder of a 9-year-old Dalit girl. The Chief Minister also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the girl's family. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to strengthen law and order in Delhi and I appeal to the Central Government to take strong steps in this direction.
BJP accused of raising political agenda
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra hit out at Rahul, alleging that he was using the case to "advance" his political agenda. He also said that the law and order machinery is working fast to provide justice to the victim's family. Patra alleged that the Gandhi family's method of 'chosen' is condemnable as they have never tweeted or uttered a word on cases of atrocities against Dalit girls in Congress-ruled states like Rajasthan, Punjab and Chhattisgarh.
People are sitting on dharna, Pankha Road block
Many people sat on the road for the third consecutive day to get justice for the girl child. Protest is going on for three days on Pankha Road in Delhi Cantt. Because of this there is roadblock. In such a situation, the people of the military are facing a lot of problems. In view of this, a notice has been given to Delhi Police to clear the road. Lt Col Navneet Singh Boprai said, 'There is a FOL depot near the place where the Protest is taking place. In this case, there may be a security problem. The road should be cleared immediately.
The family members are accusing them of murder after rape.
The girl died under mysterious circumstances when she went to collect water from a cooler at a crematorium in southwest Delhi's Purana Nangal area on Sunday. Her parents allege that she was raped and her body was forcibly cremated by the priest of the cremation ground. The priest has claimed that the girl was electrocuted. The girl's parents along with a large number of people staged a sit-in at the site of the incident in southwest Delhi's Purana Nangal area and demanded capital punishment to the culprits. Police said that four people, including a priest of the crematorium, have been arrested in the case. Police said on Monday that on the basis of the statement of the girl's mother, allegations of rape have also been added to the FIR.
