Sanjay Arora took over the charge of Delhi Police Commissioner, and was given a guard of honour

Sanjay Arora has become the new Police Commissioner of Delhi. They reached Delhi Police Headquarters today. Arriving here, Sanjay Arora took charge as the Commissioner of Delhi Police. Earlier, he was given a guard of honor at the Delhi Police Headquarters.

New Delhi: Sanjay Arora, an IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, is a 1988 batch IPS officer. He was shifted from Tamil Nadu cadre to AGMUT cadre. As soon as he came in this cadre, he was given the responsibility of the new commissioner of Delhi Police. It is worth noting that he has also received several police medals. Received Police Medal for Meritorious Service in the year 2004. Then in the year 2014, the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service was also received. In addition, the Police Special Duty Medal, the Internal Security Medal and the United Nations Peace Medal, among others, have been awarded.


Achieved significant success against Veerappan gang

IPS Sanjay Arora holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur (Rajasthan). After he became the IPS, he worked in various departments of the Tamil Nadu Police in various positions. He was the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Special Task Force, where he achieved significant success against the Veerappan gang, for which he was awarded the Chief Minister's Gallantry Medal. Veerappan was notorious as a sandalwood smuggler, who was very difficult to catch.


Been also a trainer, also took over the responsibility of ITBP

At the same time, he also did an effective job as a trainer. Served as Commandant (Combat Wing) at ITBP Academy, Mussoorie from 2000 to 2002. Then he worked as the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City from 2002 to 2004. He has also served as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Villupuram Range and Deputy Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.


Also served in Chhattisgarh CRPF, BSF

In Chennai Police, he also served in the traffic department. He has also served as the Traffic Commissioner. Later he got the responsibility of ADP operations in Tamil Nadu State Police after promotion. He also effectively carried out his duties as BSF, IG Chhattisgarh Sector CRPF and IG Operations CRPF. Last year on August 31, 2021, he became the DG of ITBP. He served in the 31st Army of ITBP.
