On May 30, Satyendra Jain was arrested by the ED in the money laundering case. In its serial investigation, the ED has arrested two business associates of Jain under PMLA.
New Delhi: ED has arrested two more businessmen in the investigation of money laundering case registered against Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain. According to officials arrested, both Korobari Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain are allegedly business associates of Satyendar Jain. He said that both have been detained under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He was arrested after questioning him. Officials claimed that both were unable to give correct answers. The agency had raided the premises linked to both of them last month in the investigation of the case.
ED raids on areas related to arrested businessman
ED had arrested Satyendra Jain (57) on May 30, who is currently in judicial custody. Satyendar Jain is a minister without a portfolio in AAP's Delhi government. The agency has claimed that "unaccounted" cash worth Rs 2.85 crore and 133 gold coins have been seized in raids conducted on June 6 against Jain's family and others after his arrest.
During this, Ankush Jain, Vaibhav Jain, Satyendra Jain's wife Poonam Jain, Naveen Jain and Siddharth Jain, directors of 'Ram Prakash Jewelers Pvt Ltd', GS Matharu, chairman of 'Lal Sher Singh Jeevan Vigyan Trust', 'Ram Prakash Jewelers Pvt Ltd' There were raids at the places affiliated to Yogesh Kumar Jain, the director of the company. Apart from this, raids were also conducted on Ankush Jain's father-in-law and the places affiliated to 'Lala Sher Singh Jeevan Vigyan Trust'. This trust is the operator of Prudence Group of Schools.
"Jain will prove clean in the investigation"
The ED had attached assets worth Rs 4.81 crore of the Jain family and their "owned and controlled" companies as part of the probe in April. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal have called Jain a "very honest patriot", saying he is "being implicated in a false case". Kejriwal said that he is hopeful that Jain will come out clean in the ED investigation.
