New Delhi: South Delhi Mayor Mukesh Suryan on Thursday inaugurated the first FASTag based parking at Dwarka Sector 14 metro station. On this occasion Chairman Standing Committee B.K. Oberoi, Local Councillor and Standing Committee member Rajdutt Gehlot, Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, Additional Commissioner A.A. Tajir, Deputy Commissioner Najafgarh Region Bhupesh Chaudhary, Chief Engineer P.C.Meena, Senior officials of Southern Corporation were present. Describing the new FASTAG based parking system, Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Mukesh Suryan said that for the first time this facility is being provided by the corporation to its citizens, after which it will be easier for the citizens to pay the parking fee. To promote online payment, , it has been decided to take the payment of parking fee through RFID FASTAG.
For this, the SDMC has given permission to IHMCL, a company under the National Highways Authority, to collect the fee for the parking key located at Dwarka Sector 14. Gyanesh Bharti Commissioner Southern Corporation, while explaining in detail about the new system of FASTAG based parking fee collection, said that South Corporation has started for the first time for the convenience of the citizens. He said that as soon as the car comes out of the parking lot, the parking fee will be deducted automatically through the FASTAG on its glass. After the implementation of this system, citizens will get freedom from the problem of keeping open money to pay the parking fee and paying in cash.
