Strong tremors of earthquake in Delhi-NCR, the earth trembled for 30 seconds

The earthquake was so strong that it can be gauged from the fact that its tremors were also felt in Uttarakhand.

New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday afternoon. During this the earth kept trembling for about 30 seconds. According to reports, the intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 5.8 on the Richter scale. How strong the earthquake was can be gauged from the fact that its tremors were also felt in Uttarakhand. According to reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers from the ground in Nepal. At present, there is no news of any damage due to this earthquake which occurred at 2.28 pm.


There was an earthquake on January 5 as well

It may be mentioned that earlier on January 5, an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 had occurred in Afghanistan and its tremors were felt in Delhi and surrounding areas as well. This earthquake occurred in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was 79 km south of Fayzabad, Afghanistan at a depth of 200 km. It is a matter of relief that there was no news of any major damage in the earthquake.


There was an earthquake in Nepal last month

Earlier, on December 28, three tremors of earthquake were felt in different areas of Nepal. According to the National Center for Earthquake Monitoring and Research, 3 tremors were felt in a span of 2 hours 5 minutes in Bagalun district. Let us tell you that on April 25, 2015, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Gorkha district of Nepal, in which 9,000 people died and about 50,000 houses were damaged.
