The newly built tunnel of Pragati Maidan has been inaugurated by PM Modi on Sunday

New Delhi: The newly constructed main tunnel of Pragati Maidan Integrated Corridor Project was opened for traffic on Monday. It is worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated this tunnel on Sunday. Officials said the tunnel will remain open for traffic from 8 am to 8 pm on a trial basis for a few days.

A passerby said, “The opening of this tunnel is like a dream come true for every driver passing through ITO and surrounding areas. Prime Minister Modi on Sunday inaugurated the 1.3-km-long tunnel, which is part of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project and has five underpasses. This is the first tunnel of its kind in Delhi. According to Public Works Department (PWD) officials, the corridor will enable commuters to travel from East Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad to India Gate and other areas of central Delhi, avoiding traffic jams on ITO, Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg.
