The tension between the Delhi government and LG, two AAP leaders expelled from the electricity board

LG VK Saxena alleged violation of constitutional provisions and removed Aam Aadmi Party leader and spokesperson Jasmine Shah and Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta's son Naveen Gupta.

New Delhi: Once again a matter of deadlock has come to the fore between the Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor. Delhi's LG ie Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has removed two members of Private Discoms (DISCOMS) nominated by Aam Aadmi Party.


Now bureaucrats have been nominated in their place on the board. LG VK Saxena alleged violation of constitutional provisions and removed Aam Aadmi Party leader and spokesperson Jasmine Shah and Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta's son Naveen Gupta.


According to other reports, the Lieutenant Governor has removed these two members and replaced them with government officials. Both these members are alleged to have cooperated with the private representatives on the board of DISCOMS owned by Anil Ambani and provided a benefit of 8 thousand of crores to the Delhi government.


Delhi Transco, which is now known as Discom. The then CM Sheila Dikshit had decided during her tenure that representatives of the government would also be included in the discus. It will also have Finance Secretary, Energy Secretary and MD.


According to the order of the Lieutenant Governor, the Finance Secretary, Energy Secretary and MD of Delhi Transco will now represent the government on Ambani and Tata-owned discoms after these discoms come into existence. The AAP has called the LG's order 'unconstitutional and illegal', saying only an elected government has the power to issue orders on electricity. The party said that the Lt Governor has made a mockery of the Constitution.
