Union Minister targets Kejriwal says, 'I don't understand why there is so much hatred for Hindutva'

Rijiju said in a tweet, "Really I don't understand why Arvind Kejriwal and his gang hate Hindu and Hindutva so much? I can understand about Rahul Gandhi but Arvind Kejriwal."

New Delhi: Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leadership, saying they do not understand why Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and "his gang" hate Hindus and Hindutva so much. He made the remarks after he was embroiled in a controversy after a video surfaced of Delhi government minister Rajendra Pal Gautam purportedly attending a 'conversion programme'.

In the video that went viral on Friday, thousands of attendees can be heard taking a pledge to convert to Buddhism and condemning Hindu gods and goddesses. Rijiju said in a series of tweets on Friday night and Saturday morning, "I really don't understand why Arvind Kejriwal and his gang hate Hindu and Hindutva so much. I can understand about Rahul Gandhi but Arvind Kejriwal."

BJP demands to sack Gautam from cabinet

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Arunachal Pradesh Rijiju said that every Indian should follow the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'. With the video of the AAP leader coming out, the BJP attacked the Delhi Chief Minister and demanded that Gautam should be sacked from the cabinet.

Kejriwal unhappy with minister's statement: Sources

Gautam, however, issued a statement saying that he is a "very religious person and cannot criticize/condemn any deity even in his dreams with his deeds and words." There was no official reaction from AAP or the Delhi government. But AAP sources claimed that the chief minister was "extremely unhappy" with Social Welfare Minister Gautam over the issue.

Significantly, on Vijayadashami, thousands of people took Buddhist initiation at Ambedkar Bhavan in Karolbagh, Delhi. Social Welfare Minister of Delhi Government Rajendra Pal Gautam was also present on the stage in this program. In his presence, an oath was taken that 'we will not consider Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Ram, Krishna, Gauri-Ganapati as Gods and will never worship them.' While sharing the video, BJP started surrounding the Kejriwal government. BJP has called the Kejriwal government anti-Hindu. Along with this, Rajendra is also demanding Gautam apologize to the Hindu society. BJP Arvind Kejriwal is talking about sacking minister Rajendra Gautam and apologizing.
