UP MLC Election Results 2023: BJP wins 4 seats, Independent leads on one, SP does not open account

After the voting on January 30 for three graduate and two teacher quota seats in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council block, the counting which continued since Thursday is now in its final stage. In the trends and results that have come so far, BJP has won four seats, while an independent candidate has made a lead in one seat. BJP captured the Bareilly-Moradabad seat for the third time by applying a hat trick. BJP's Jaipal Singh has been declared busy.

New Delhi: After the voting on January 30 for three graduate and two teacher quota seats in Uttar Pradesh, the counting which continued since Thursday is now in its final stage. In the trends and results that have come so far, BJP has won four seats, while an independent candidate has made a lead in one seat. BJP captured the Bareilly-Moradabad seat for the third time by applying a hat trick. BJP's Jaipal Singh has been declared busy.


BJP's Arun Pathak has won from Unnao-Kanpur graduate MLC seat. On the other hand, BJP candidate Babulal Tiwari has been declared elected to the Jhansi-Allahabad teacher MLC seat. BJP candidate Devendra Singh has been declared victorious on the Gorakhpur-Faizabad graduate MLC seat. Independent Raj Bahadur Singh Chandel is leading over his nearest rivals in the Kanpur teachers block MLC election.


Tenure of five members ending on February 12

Tenure of five members selected from graduate and teacher quota in UP Legislative Council is ending on February 12. For which voting was held on 30 January. At present, the BJP has 81 members in the 100-member Legislative Council, while the SP has 9 members. SP needs a site to save the chair of the opposition in the Legislative Council.
