Schools may open soon in Haryana

After the decline in corona cases in Haryana, the Khattar government is contemplating to reopen schools in the state.

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has decided to reopen the schools in the state. In Haryana, from February 1, all the schools from class 10th to 12th will open, although the decision to open the lower class schools has not been taken yet. State Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar gave this information.


The decision to resume offline school for students of classes 1 to 9 will be taken later and possibly after February 15.


Education Minister Pal has said that around 75% of the students have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Hence, the risk is relatively low and the decision to reopen schools for junior classes will be taken in view of the situation.


On the other hand, 12 people lost their lives due to coronavirus in Haryana on Sunday, taking the death toll in the state to 10,177, while the number of infections has gone up to 9,08,819 with 7,516 fresh cases. 2,102 fresh cases have been reported from the worst affected Gurugram district.
